Oral health begins at birth. Making infant and children’s oral health a priority early on is a key to lifelong health. Ideally, children should see a dentist within the first year, and regularly thereafter, just like regular check-ups with their paediatrician or family doctor. As soon as children’s teeth erupt they are susceptible to decay. Children need their parents’ and the dentist’s help to prevent cavities, keep their teeth clean, and learn good eating habits.
